By bus
The Melun Val de Seine conurbation is served by the Greater Melun bus network. Comprising 35 routes, this network enables you to get around Melun and the towns in the conurbation.
Melun has three bus stations:
- Place Gallieni (in front of the SNCF station)
- Place de l'Ermitage (southern district)
- Mail-Gaillardon (town centre)
The Seine-et-Marne Express bus network provides links between the department's major towns, including Fontainebleau, Nemours, Montereau-Fault-Yonne, Nangis, Provins, Coulommiers, Lieusaint, Torcy and Meaux.
The Noctilien regional bus network operates from 00:30 to 05:30. It is organised around 5 main transfer stations located in Paris, from which lines depart for the suburbs. Melun Val de Seine is served by this network via line N132 from Gare de Lyon.
Melun is also served by the Citalien network. This bus links the towns of Sénart and Melun Val de Seine, passing through the Boissénart shopping centre, the Champ de Foire shopping area and the Carré Sénart shopping centre.

By train
If you want to get to the urban area from Paris, the Transilien R train takes you directly from Gare de Lyon (Hall 1) to Gare de Melun in 25 minutes. This train also takes you to Livry-sur-Seine.
This line extends to serve the towns of southern Seine-et-Mame: Fontainebieau, Champagne-sur-Seine, Nemours, Souppes-sur-Loing, etc.
Melun is also served by the RER D, which passes through Goussainville, Paris and Villeneuve-Saint-Georges.
